Updates & Pics

I got some decent work done last night! And took pics!

This one is actually from night before last. Gollum made my Donna Runaway Bride earrings for me.

I worked on the corset for the last costume for a bit – got the straps added, cleaned up some loose threads. Then I patterned out my skirt and cape. Thankfully I had JUST enough fabric (though I wish I’d had more for the cape, to make it wider, but I’m leaving it at this point).

Here’s the cape

I decided it would be fun to add a cape to my Glimmer costume, since I'm doing an original take on it, anyway. Feels more princess-y. This is what was leftover after cutting out the skirt, so it will be the cape.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

I’m not hemming this chiffon. I’ll probably just cauterize it.

And here’s the front with the skirt pieces just pinned on.

Gandalf and Thor helped too

And then I re-dyed all my chiffon. I decided I wanted more lavender than pink. I didn’t dye every bit though, I’m hoping to have a kind of gradient-not-quite-tie-dyed thing going on. If I’m not happy with it, it’s into the dye remover and start over.

I decided to go a little more purple with my chiffon pieces for the cape and skirt, so I redyed them. I did a little bit of a gradient with some areas being more blue and some more violet. I twisted them and let them dry that way, for a crinkled effect.Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

As of this morning they’re still pretty damp, so when I get home, they’ll lay out in the sun for a bit.

I’m going to start packing this afternoon! So exciting!
